VEGETABLE GARDEN

A series of meetings and workshops focusing on the main vegetables and herbs planted in spring and summer, many of which can be found in Stavros Niarchos Park. Participants learn their uses, how to grow them, and finally create their own spring and summer flower bed.

07/04: Vegetables and Herbs of the Spring Garden
In the first April session, participants plan and plant spring vegetables and herbs. They learn useful tips about sowing and planting the traditional vegetables that are so important to our diet; they further explore the seed, which carries all the communal knowledge, heritage and culture.

14/04: Soil Care
In the second session, participants learn about the nutrition needs of spring vegetables, crop rotation and green manure. They become acquainted with the composting process and begin to identify and analyze soils, as well as to produce compost, that is, food for plants.
